JetBlue TrueBlue is the rewards program of JetBlue Airways, and it’s one of the ten best airline rewards programs in the world. When you become a TrueBlue member, you can earn points that can be used for flights on JetBlue — including the ultra-comfortable JetBlue Mint — and other travel partners. Here are the best (and worst!) ways to redeem Jetblue TrueBlue points.

How to earn JetBlue TrueBlue points
Although the easiest way to earn TrueBlue points is to fly on JetBlue (and book through the airline directly), that’s not your only option. JetBlue’s loyalty program offers plenty of ways to rack ’em up.
Flying
When you fly on JetBlue, you’ll earn at least two TrueBlue points per $1 spent on airfare, as long as you booked on jetblue.com or the JetBlue app. All told, you can earn up to $15 per dollar spent on flights, depending on your elite status and eligible credit card.
You can also earn points flying on partners, including Etihad Airways, Hawaiian Airlines, Icelandair, JSX, Qatar Airways, Silver Airways, Singapore Airlines, and South African Airways.
Credit cards
A JetBlue credit card will give you a boost when it comes to earning JetBlue TrueBlue points, and there are three to choose from in the U.S.: the JetBlue Card, the JetBlue Plus Card, and the JetBlue Business Card.
All three offer welcome bonuses, which you’ll receive after meeting a minimum spending requirement and paying the annual fee. You can also earn points when you use the card to book flights on JetBlue and on everyday purchases.
Transfer partners
JetBlue has three transfer partners: American Express Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, and Citi ThankYou Rewards. Each of these transfer at a 1:1 ration, so one Chase point, for example, becomes one JetBlue point.
Dining and shopping
When you join TrueBlue Dining, you can earn up to three JetBlue TrueBlue points per dollar spent on dine-in and takeout orders from thousands of U.S. restaurants. You can also earn TrueBlue points at select merchants when shopping through the TrueBlue Shopping portal.
The fare types available on JetBlue
There are five kinds of fares available on JetBlue, and almost all of them are bookable with TrueBlue points.
Blue Basic
With JetBlue’s entry-level fares, U.S. travelers flying domestically are currently permitted just one personal item — no carry-on or checked bags allowed. Changes, same-day switches, and standby are off the table too, with cancellation fees starting at $100 per person. There’s also a fee to select your seat, and you’ll board in the last group.
Blue Basic fares earn one base TrueBlue point for each dollar spent, but you can’t redeem those points on a Blue Basic flight or seat-selection fee — the only fare class with that restriction.
Blue
Travelers in Blue seats are allowed one carry-on, one personal item, and one checked bag on flights to and from the U.K. and Europe only. Changes and cancellations are fee-free, but same-day switches and standby will cost you $75. Seat selection is included, and you’ll board in the general group. Blue fares earn three base TrueBlue points per dollar spent.
Blue Plus
At the next level up, travelers are allowed one carry-on, one personal item, and one checked bag. Everything else is the same as Blue: fee-free changes and cancellations, $75 for same-day switches and standby, seat selection included, general boarding group, and three base TrueBlue points per dollar spent.
Blue Extra
Blue Extra is an interesting mix, providing more flexibility for those traveling light — no checked bags for U.S. domestic fliers, but fee-free changes, cancellations, same-day switches, standby, and seat selection. You’ll also get early boarding, priority security at the airport, and three base TrueBlue points per dollar.
Mint
JetBlue’s top-of-the-line option, Mint offers an ultra-comfortable onboard experience, plus two checked bags, advanced seat selection, early boarding, priority security, and no fees on anything but same-day switches and standby. Mint fares earn three base TrueBlue points per dollar.
How to book JetBlue flights using rewards points
It is extremely easy to book JetBlue flights using rewards points. Simply visit JetBlue.com and fill out your travel information.
The next page will show the available flights that day. When you click on your fare, you’ll see several fare types.
The next page will be a summary of your trip. If everything looks good, head to check out.
Finally, you’ll check out – and with that, you’ve booked a JetBlue flight with rewards points!
Flexible booking with Cash + Points
You can use the Cash + Points on JetBlue-operated flights and JetBlue Vacations packages with no blackout dates. You’ll only see this option if you have at least 500 TrueBlue points in your account.
Cash + Points is available on any JetBlue-operated flight, including JetBlue Vacations packages, with no blackout dates. Note that you cannot book Blue Basic fares with Cash + Points.
Booking JetBlue Mint with points
JetBlue Mint is the airline’s first- or business-class equivalent, available on all transatlantic flights and some coast-to-coast, Caribbean, and Latin America routes. And luckily for frequent fliers, booking JetBlue Mint with points is a breeze.
To book JetBlue Mint with points, visit JetBlue.com and input your departure and arrival cities. Routes that fly Mint service will be noted with a green button.
You’ll then be taken to a page showing you available Mint flights. Again, Mint flights will be designated with a “by Mint” indicator.
And that’s it! If you have enough JetBlue TrueBlue points in your account, you’ll be able to book a Mint flight.
Redeeming JetBlue points with transfer partners
Though JetBlue isn’t a member of an airline alliance, it does have three partner airlines that allow you to redeem TrueBlue points: Hawaiian, Qatar, and Etihad.
The points you’ll need for an award flight depend on the published base fare at the time of booking, which can be affected by the flight and peak travel periods. Redemption rates can also vary by airline.
Booking a JetBlue partner flight with rewards points
While JetBlue has a number of airline partners that allow you to earn points on travel, you can only book JetBlue partner flights with rewards points on Etihad, Hawaiian, and Qatar. We’ll use Qatar as an example.
First, visit JetBlue.com and input your preferred departure and arrival airports.
You’ll then be able to search for and book partner awards with TrueBlue rewards points.
More ways to redeem JetBlue points
Aside from flights on JetBlue, you can redeem your points for other travel purchases and non-travel purchases, too.
Redeem TrueBlue points for other travel rewards
You can redeem JetBlue points for other travel, such as JetBlue Vacations packages.
Redeem TrueBlue points for upgrades
You can redeem TrueBlue points for seat upgrades on JetBlue, such as JetBlue Mint seats and Even More Space seats.
Redeem TrueBlue points for merchandise
You can redeem TrueBlue points for purchases with JetBlue Vacations, use the Points Payback feature if you have a JetBlue card, or donate your points.
However, for the best-value points redemption, we strongly recommend booking award flights, particularly JetBlue Mint, rather than buying merchandise.
Tips for finding JetBlue award seats
The fastest and easiest way to find JetBlue award seats is to use the Best Fare Finder widget, which shows a calendar that displays the lowest award tickets by month. JetBlue also runs frequent promotions, where you can snag last-minute award seats at a substantial discount. Make sure to set an alert on the @JetBlueCheeps page on X (Twitter) to score deals!
Using point.me to redeem TrueBlue points
Now that you’re familiar with JetBlue TrueBlue points, here’s how point.me can help you redeem them for award seats.
First, you’ll navigate to the search page (available to Standard and Premium members) and input your departure and arrival airports, as well as your travel dates. You’ll also need to select whether you’re traveling one-way or return, the number of passengers, and fare class.
Next, you’ll want to filter out non-JetBlue results. You can do that by selecting “Airlines” and then selecting JetBlue. You can also filter by number of stops, time of the flight, programs, and sort by quickest flights or our picks.
You’ll then see your results. Select the box on the right side of the screen to see your options.
Our picks will be listed first. Decide on your preferred program, and hit “Select Deal.”
On the final page, you’ll see options for booking your award flights. You can either book it yourself, or we can book it for you. And that’s it!
